Opening night, the heat lamp at the Section 112 nacho stand blew. One jalapeño slice flew onto the 50-yard line and stood up, headband on, football in hand. Four plays later it threw a flea-flicker for six.

The Gnomes swear they grew the Jalapeños in a backyard garden. The Jalapeños say they've never been near a garden in their life. The winner keeps the Golden Trowel for a year.
The chant

The scorer fans his mouth like he just bit a ghost pepper. Two teammates sprint in with fire-extinguisher bottles and “put him out” with a spray of water.
